A Year In - Then and Now

It's finally time to show some of the fruits of a year's worth of blood, sweat and tears.

As you'll see, we have come a long way - but still have a long road ahead.

Again, for Little House interior before and afters, click here or here.

So, starting off with perhaps our least impressive progress, Little House from the exterior.

Then...

And now...

And Little House's garden, now.

Big House lounge and dining room:

And now. It's not easy to tell but the photo above was taken from the doorway... of a wall that is no longer there (it stood where the floorboards change colour, below).

Big house kitchen then:

And now:

Big House pantry then.

And now...

The yards then...

Still then...

And now...

Then:

Now:

It's taken a whole lot of work to get as far as we've come, but the hard yards are just beginning. Thanks to everyone who's come along on this journey with us over the last year, your advice and support has helped us get through the tough days.

  1. I fell tired just thinking about the work you guys have put in to get to this point. Not to mention your plans over the holiday break. Wow. It will definitely be worth it in the long run, that's for sure. Kudos to you both. cheers Wendy

  7. You have managed to do sooo much considering what you have had to deal with this year, well done !
You can almost smell the stench of mouse infestation in some of the before pics, it was certainly in a very manky condition when you started.........yuuuuk
Hopefully all the neat and tidy well mowed garden area will keep the snakes at bay, no cover to cross the lawn and lots of activity and noise also discourages them.
Looking forward to progress next year, hope you can take it easy sometimes when the heat is too much over the Christmas weeks.

  8. Far out! Has it really been a year? You guys have achieved a massive amount and I must say those floors look exceptional. Once you've knocked over that sanding business your living dining kitchen will look amazing and hopefully give you the boost to chip away at the rest. We are hoping to knock off some painting on the holidays and get a few rooms finished after all this end of year chaos settles. mel x

  11. Its looking fantastic, heaps of work involved when you have a big property like that but it is well worth it with all that fresh air and space around you. I grew up on a farm and had the best childhood :)
