I'm still thinking a butchers block might work as a moveable extra workspace though. Thanks for keeping an eye out! xxAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05305924750586655358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7633066708385692057.post-14439524571452050982013-03-23T17:44:07.176-07:002013-03-23T17:44:07.176-07:00Edwin's, just wanted to let you know I stumble...Edwin's, just wanted to let you know I stumbled across an old wooden bench on eBay that might really suit the style of kitchen you are planning. Search on eBay under " rustic island bench". it has one bid at $199 and finishes in 4 days at Cedar Creek. you could leave the top as is or even put a stone slab on top. Then you would have an island and the kitchen company would do all the other cabinetry. I love a mixture of new and old and could also be very cost effective and give your kitchen lots of character. j
Hope you don't mind, I just love kitchen designing!. Don't count on the Guinea fowl as nephew bought 6 and now has 2 that come and go as they please because they share themselves around the neighbours. He says if he could catch the *adjective* things he'd give them away. Comments from him are you need at least 2 1/2 metre high fences as then he'd still have 6,lots of time and patience and be half deaf as they are flighty, you're forever looking for the darn things as they disappear and after a while the noise they make, constantly, drives you nuts. You'd be better off encouraging a couple of big goannas to keep snakes away as long as you have a secure henhouse.RobynLouisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08050372484207822842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7633066708385692057.post-73211555657772242412013-03-22T20:43:54.043-07:002013-03-22T20:43:54.043-07:00Don't forget to check your boots before you pu...Don't forget to check your boots before you put them on! Maybe the extra noise of the horses and the new tenants dog might help? Although the horse feed won't... I get out and about in long gumboots even in winter if it is really snaky. I look ridiculous but the care factor is very low.

The only other thing that is supposed to be brilliant is geese (I think I may have said this before - sorry) but I hate geese as they are scary for little kids.

On a different note - I was in Bunnings looking for some fittings for the quarters we are renovating. They had a great selection. I will go back again and get a small galley kitchen to go up there also. Am looking forward to seeing what you have chosen. They had a lot more than I was expecting!A Farmer's Wifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17094401205258678969noreply@blogger.com
